Exciting new role at MK SNAP

Work Training Enterprise Coordinator

Salary: £18753pa FTE Contract: 1 year fixed Hours per week: Full time (would consider four days per week)

Overall Objective:

To lead in the planning, provision, development and delivery of activity sessions and work training skills sessions for adults with a range of learning disabilities. The post holder will be responsible for the development of our work training enterprise and the teaching of our work training course at MK Snap including the expansion and development of the Snap enterprise offer.

MK Snap is looking for Trustees

As a charity, MK Snap is governed by a Board of Trustees who support its work by providing leadership for the charity and being responsible for ensuring that it is well run, solvent and delivering its charitable outcome. It is an unpaid role that all the trustees find hugely rewarding.
The Board of Trustees is seeking to welcome new members by recruiting people who:

As a trustee, you would join a dedicated and lively group of trustees. The time commitment is four to five board meetings per year (approx. 2 hours each) plus membership of one committee with a similar time commitment. You would receive induction and training and the role brings the opportunity both to take strategic decisions and support the work of the charity.

Learning Support Assistant 0.5

Salary: £16,809.60pa (pro rata for 0.5 post)

Hours per week:  Part time 20 hours per week (Between 8.45am to 5 pm hours to be agreed)

Main Objectives
To be an integral member of a small flexible team ensuring that the learning goals and wellbeing of the learners are met at all times.

Summary of Duties
• Take part and work as part of a team to ensure that the daily sessions and activities start on time, run smoothly and meet the needs of the learners.
• Plan or help to plan the education sessions, including the setting of goals and targets to help the learners to develop their talents and skills.
• Ensure paperwork relating to sessions is completed in a correct and timely manner.
• To assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of learners individual learning plans.
• Assist in the identification of additional activities required for learners to enable progression, self-reliance, flexibility, confidence building and improvement in life and social skills.
• Comply with all MK Snap policies and procedures.
• Be prepared to attend any training courses/events as deemed necessary by the Head of Learner Services.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are carried out and adhered to.
• Raise aspirations, inspire and continually improve outcomes and quality in delivery
• Participate in the management team and performance review meetings.

MK Snap Catering & Hospitality Coordinator 

Full-Time Salary: £18,753pa ( FTE pro rata)

Main Objectives
Deliver a variety of catering sessions to teach the learners transferable skills that will support them to access employment through social enterprise.

Summary of Duties
• To ensure that the daily sessions and activities run smoothly and meet the needs of the learners.
• Plan the skills sessions, including the setting of goals and targets to help the learners to develop their talents and skills.
• Ensure paperwork (session plans and schemes of work) relating to sessions are completed in a correct and timely manner.
• To assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of learners individual learning plans.
• Efficiently and effectively run the kitchen at MK Snap in line with appropriate H&S guidance
• Responsible for ordering all food supplies and sundries and be responsible for stock control.
• Prepare and agree on budgets for cookery sessions & menus for all cookery sessions.
• To be responsible for running the refreshments morning and lunchtime facilitating learners to make drinks and take money.
• Provide buffet food and celebration cakes to outside companies/customers in relation to the Enterprise Project at MK Snap.
• Preparing learners (who are able) to undertake food hygiene and or safety in the workplace certificates.
• Assist in the identification of additional activities required for learners to enable progression, self-reliance, flexibility, confidence building and improvement in life and social skills.
• Comply with all MK Snap policies and procedures.
• Able to act as a personal tutor to learners
• Be prepared to attend any training courses/events as deemed necessary by the Head of Learner Services.
• To ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are carried out and adhered to.
• Ensure that the kitchen is well maintained and fit for purpose for inspection by environmental health if required.
• Be willing to support and attend any events as required by SMT
• Raise aspirations, inspire and continually improve outcomes and quality in delivery
• Participate in team and performance review meetings.
• Develop, protect and enhance the MK Snap brand.
• Deputise where required and act as an outstanding ambassador for the organisation

Head of Social Enterprise

Salary: £24k pa Contract: 1 year fixed until July 2020
Hours per week: Full-time 8.45pm to 5 pm

Overall Objective: To drive the development and expansion of Snap Enterprise to include new platforms for work for people with disabilities, improved quality of the offer and increased use of new technologies
The Project: Snap Enterprise is a social enterprise predominantly involving adults with learning and physical disabilities who have multiple and complex barriers to accessing the mainstream world of work. This is a three-year project. The emphasis of Snap Enterprise is to provide the skills and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to increase their confidence and skills and where appropriate; increase opportunities to
access to work in the community. Revenue raised through sales and services is re-invested directly back into this project to ensure sustainability.

Main Objectives
· To lead and motivate the Snap Team in the delivery of social enterprise projects & successfully deliver the targets on the business plan
Summary of Duties
· Prepare and deliver the project plan for Snap enterprise businesses of
Café/Catering, Work training, Crafts (pottery, sewing, card making), Gardening and Canvas art, including production targets and income and expenditure
· To manage and support the co-ordinators of the five Snap Enterprise businesses
· Build on and organise the delivery of events for Snap Enterprise products and services, including risk assessments
· Draw up a timeline to drive production to meet targets including seasonal demands and ensure production meets the demands for specific events
· Establish MK Snaps first ever online shop
· Raise the profile of Snap Enterprise and seek new outlets for Snap products and new audiences
Essential
· Experience in a community or educational setting.
· Understanding of social enterprise
· Sales and marketing experience in a retail environment (must be able to demonstrate experience of budgeting, costings, pricing, display and marketing)
· Management experience of staff and volunteers.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills including clear leadership, motivational, problem-solving
· Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering a project plan and meeting deadlines
· Excellent organisational skills & attention to detail
· Demonstrable experience of project monitoring and evaluation and ability to articulate and present findings to a multidisciplinary audience.
· Demonstrable experience of building relationships and effective partnership
· Research new ideas, prices, raw materials, methods of production
· Establish customer satisfaction and customer care monitoring and evaluation
· To raise aspirations, inspire and continually improve outcomes and quality in our service
· To develop and improve relationships with learners, commissioners and stakeholders.
